Line weight: #5/6, length: 8’6″–9’0″

Leader

Length: 6–8 ft.

Diameter: at least 0.16 mm, preferably 0.18 mm

Dry fly

Rather large, high-floating patterns, e.g. Goddard Caddis, grasshopper, Irresistible Caddis, etc. Present behind large rocks in the eddy or in the pockets along the edge.

Nymph

New Zealand style, slim patterns e.g. Perdigón, caddis larva, freshwater shrimp

1–2 nymphs with a strike indicator, Euro nymphing
